YOUR SKATE JOURNEY BEGAN IN BOCHUM, GERMANY. CAN YOU TELL US WHY YOU WERE THERE AND WHAT FIRST INTERESTED YOU IN SKATING?

I was there to perform in the musical “starlight express” which is performed on rollerskates. Before then I had never skated! We were taught for four months at “skate school” starting from complete basics to crazy tricks and ramps.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS IS AN EPIC SHOW, WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE?

It was full of ups and downs and was extremely challenging but I learnt so much and that if you put your mind to it you can achieve anything!

WE KNOW YOU’VE SKATED FOR SOME PRETTY BIG EVENTS LIKE ELROW, BRIGHTON PRIDE AND PORSCHE (TO NAME A FEW!) DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE SO FAR?

It’s all about the people and the vibe with skating. Brighton pride was definitely a highlight! Crazy costumes and big crowds of happy people in the sunshine :)

IT’S SAFE TO SAY YOU’RE A FAN OF DISCO (WHO ISN’T?!) IS THAT WHERE YOU GET INSPIRATION TO LEARN NEW SKATE DANCE MOVES AND TRICKS?

Absolutely there’s nothing better than grooving to your favourite funky tune dressed in glitter performing some sassy tricks.

ACROSS OUR RANGE WHICH WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE BEST SKATES FOR A ROLLER DISCO?

I absolutely love the rookie artistic skates. They’re so comfy and practical. I wear them on all jobs.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR ROOKIE SKATES?

The fit and how comfy they are, I don’t need to spend months breaking them in they’re good to go straight out of the box!

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WISH YOU’D BEEN TOLD BEFORE YOU STARTED SKATING?

When learning, don’t overthink it and relaxxxxx!(Easier said than done!)

You don’t have to be perfect and you’ll be happiest finding your own style and groove into it.

AS WELL AS A FREELANCE ROLLER-SKATER, YOU’RE ALSO A ROLLER SKATE INSTRUCTOR, WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS JOB, AND WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR ANY BEGINNERS IN YOUR CLASS?

I love teaching beginners. It’s amazing the improvement within one lesson, you can go from being barely able to stand, to whizzing around and skating backwards! I love seeing how shocked people are at how much they improve.
